Sigh!! I can’t wait to see this. I’ve always been in love with his poetry. My kids are definitely going to grow up reading his books.

Since I’m a nice person, I’ve already taken the liberty of figuring out Spike Jonze’s next film.  It will be an adaptation of this Shel Silverstein classic (and, for what it’s worth, my favorite book ever growing up) and will star Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the Boy at all the various stages of his life (with Benjamin Button like CGI wizardy, obvs).  The Tree will be played/voiced by Gabriel Byrne, accent intact.  The soundtrack will be by Sonic Youth.
You are welcome, Spike Jonze.

Each time I see the Upside-Down Man
    Standing in the water,

    Another time
    Another town,
Maybe HE is right side up
    And I am upside down.
